POSTAL REFORM
UPDATE!

Thank you to all who took
the time to contact your representative urging them to reject the amendment to
change OWCP as part of HR 22, the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act
(postal reform). With your help, the amendment was rejected. Here is an
update from our APWU Congressional Information Center:

Committee
Rejects Anti-Worker Amendments |
|
|
|
On Monday, July 25, the
House Committee on Rules rejected two anti-worker amendments to the
Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act (postal reform). One
amendment, offered by Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) would have greatly
impacted postal workers unfortunate enough to have been injured at
work. The second amendment, introduced by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) would
have interfered, and forever limited an arbitrator’s ability to issue a
decision which would have been fair to postal workers. Both amendments
were rejected, and will not be considered when consideration of postal
reform reaches the House floor.
This action
proves that with solidarity we can and will prevail!
In Solidarity,
Jena Gomez
