       APWU Local 7019 Officers

Steve Brooks is returning as the President of the Twin Cities PDC APWU Local 7019.  Steve has served as a steward and is currently the Chief Steward.

One of Steve’s main goals for this next term of office is to increase our membership numbers.  In order for our union to remain strong and to grow, we must do better at organizing.  He works in Payroll Services in Pay Location 9631.  If you have any concerns you may contact him at x2592.

Judy McCann is our new Vice President.  She has served as a delegate, first at the St. Paul APWU local, and here at the ASC.  She is also the Editor of the Mn. State APWU newsletter.  Along with serving on several committees, Judy is also a steward.

One of her main goals for the Twin Cities PDC Local is to join the Labor Council in our area.  She believes that the APWU or any other union could not survive without an active labor movement in the communities across the nation.  Labor laws have been legislatively weakened in our country throughout the years and through the Labor Council, we can fight this weakening by strengthening the labor movement in our communities. She works in Payroll Services in Pay Location 9634.  You can contact Judy at x2644.

Larry Lacy is our new Secretary.  He has served two terms as the Local’s Secretary in the past.  Larry is a great believer of fiscal responsibility. He believes that “we need to spend the union’s money where is does the most good, in our own backyard, and if it is not spent, give it back.”

Larry says that this will be the last time he runs for any union office since he is approaching his retirement.  He would like to see some of our newer union members becoming more involved and maybe taking over his position after the next election. Larry works in Payroll.  Operations and can be reached at x2531.

Jack Loewen has served as Local’s Treasurer for the last eight years.  He has been a member of our union since he started in 1975.

His goals for this term are to continue to maintain good financial records and to raise the consciousness of our local that “the struggle will always continue” for labor causes.  Jack works in Payroll Services and can be reached at x2627.

Suzanne Leonard is a newly elected E-Board Member and has been appointed Finance Director for our local.  She has served the local in many capacities over the years, including being a past President.

Suzanne would like to see our local be receptive to new activities and new ways of meeting our members’ needs and desires for an improved workplace, as well as opportunities to improve their career future.  Any member who has an idea or suggestion to propose is welcome to call her at x1116.

Cindy Julson is a returning E-Board Member and is continuing on as Education and Research Director.  Cindy is always looking for ideas for classes or seminars for our members.

If there are any issues or topics that you would like more information on, or that might be of help to our members, please contact Cindy.  She works in Payroll Services in Pay Local 9631 and can be reached at x3024.

Jena Gomez (pronounced “Gina”) is also a newly elected E-Board member.  She has been appointed Legislative Director. While Jena has only worked at the ASC for a year and a half, she has always been an active member of the APWU throughout her 10+ years.  As a member of the St. Paul Local, she volunteered for phone banks and “Get Out The Vote” drives.

Her main goal as Legislative Director is to keep our membership informed of any legislative issues or labor related news.  Jena works in Payroll Services in Pay Location 9634 and can be reached at x2638.
