Latest Postal Reform and Labor Legislation News

The Postal Reform bill HR22 is currently pending action in a joint House and Senate conference committee.  Behind the scenes negotiations are currently being held to try to come up with a compromise between the House and Senate versions of the bill and with the Bush administration.  Prior to the adjournment of Congress for the elections, a revised bill that would have been harmful to postal workers was being readied to come out of the conference committee.  It was stopped through the combined efforts of the postal workers' unions.  While it was stopped for now, it could resurface when Congress returns in November following the elections.  Click on the update below for more information.
